Some teachers try to stay away from assignments that require students to access certain technology such as the internet, videos, music, etc. Teachers may feel that some students don't have the privileges of at home technology or wouldn't even give the time to find a place with the access. But instead of assuming that students don't have the access or the knowledge to find it, we should be providing the information to our students. For example, hand out directions to the nearest library or even ask students where they live in order to find the libraries that carter specifically to them. But you can't just say, "oh heres the directions," but instead you have to spice it up for them by saying they can also rent movies for free, access the internet, rent books, etc. Maybe libraries aren't a hit with the students. Instead, you could provide a list of places that offer free internet. And lets please not list a bunch of Starbucks but instead do some research to find where you feel the students would be in a learning safe environment while also not feeling the drudgery of studying.
Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge aka TPACK is a framework that describes the kinds of knowledge needed by a teacher for effective pedagogical practice in a learning environment where technology has enhanced. TPACK is considered to be the ideal way to teach; knowing your content, knowing how to utilize technology in and with your content, and then knowing how to effectively teach an individual the knowledge of it all.The broken line represents context which know is considering the students.
